About the College of Clinical Psychotherapists

An independent network fostering reflection, dialogue, & excellence in contemporary clinical practice.

Founded by a group of practicing clinicians and scholars, the College of Clinical Psychotherapists (CCP) is an ad‑hoc association committed to creating spaces where psychoanalytic ideas meet clinical challenges. We believe that clinical wisdom grows when practitioners—from seasoned analysts to emerging therapists—come together to share their cases, questions and reflections in a spirit of mutual respect and curiosity.

Our Mission

Connection & Community
To build an inclusive forum for clinicians, researchers and students to explore the evolving landscape of psychoanalytic practice.

Reinvigorating Psychoanalysis in Australia
To develop and sustain the presence of psychoanalysis in Australia through the production of work that responds to the challenges of contemporary clinical practice. This involves a commitment to reinventing psychoanalysis where necessary—without losing its essence.

organising the Brisbane psychoanalytic congress

Under the banner of the CCP, our volunteer Organising Committee brings together practitioners from diverse backgrounds—private practice, university departments and community services—to design a program that balances theory, clinical art and lively debate.
